Sustainability
At Generation, we are committed to designing fashionable and environmentally responsible women's apparel, ensuring a positive and lasting impact on sustainability. Our focus is on utilizing eco-friendly materials, adhering to ethical production practices, and upholding social responsibility. We strive to empower our customers to make informed choices while leading the fashion industry toward a more sustainable future. Our philosophy centers on the belief that fashion can be both aesthetically appealing and environmentally responsible.
Our Commitment
At Generation, sustainability encompasses three fundamental pillars: environmental stewardship, social equity, and economic welfare. We are dedicated to upholding ethical principles that safeguard the well-being of current and future generations. To minimize our carbon footprint, we proactively reduce waste at its source, manage and repurpose CMT (Cut, Make, Trim) waste, and invest in comprehensive energy audits to enhance efficiency and reduce consumption.
Sustainable Packaging
Environmental responsibility is at the core of our operations. We have eliminated unsustainable plastics from our packaging and adopted 100% biodegradable alternatives across our product range. Our ongoing commitment to sustainability drives us to explore and implement innovative, eco-friendly solutions, ensuring a positive environmental impact.
Waste Management
Our Waste Audit Center plays a pivotal role in our sustainability strategy. We systematically assess and categorize surplus fabrics and CMT waste, ensuring their maximum repurposing and recycling. This approach reduces landfill waste and optimizes resource utilization, reinforcing our commitment to responsible production. Our company generates non-hazardous waste only.
ReGEN Initiative
Transformation and repurposing are integral to our brand ethos. We believe that materials should not be discarded but reimagined, redesigned, and repurposed. Our commitment to sustainability is evident in practices such as patchwork, overdyeing, embroidery, and printing, which breathe new life into fabrics. Even smaller accessories are crafted from leftover materials, ensuring minimal waste.
Beyond textiles, our sustainability efforts extend to construction materials, paper, and packaging. This philosophy is embodied in our regenerate line, which focuses on reducing fashion waste while minimizing environmental impact. By rethinking material lifecycles, we create functional, affordable, and innovative products while preventing usable resources from being discarded.
From May 2023 to May 2024, we have successfully upcycled approximately 3,035 meters and 50.6 kilograms of fabric within our ReGEN line, reinforcing our commitment to sustainable fashion and circular design.
SUSTAINABILITY AND COMPLIANCE DEPARTMENT
Water and Energy Conservation
The textile industry faces significant challenges concerning water and energy consumption. At Generation, we are committed to addressing these challenges by implementing strategic conservation measures. Our Lux Monitoring Plan forms the foundation of our energy management approach, enabling real-time tracking and analysis of energy consumption across departments.
To optimize energy efficiency, we have divided our industry into different zones, with submeters installed to monitor electricity consumption across various processes. This division allows us to effectively manage and distribute energy loads according to specific operational requirements.
This data-driven strategy has led to a 46% reduction in energy consumption over a year. Furthering our commitment, we installed a 110-kW solar power system in November 2024, followed by an additional 10 kW solar installation in February 2025. These initiatives contribute to lowering our carbon footprint and offsetting greenhouse gas emissions, reinforcing our dedication to sustainable energy solutions.
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
SDG 5: Gender Equality
Gender equality is a fundamental human right and a critical component of a fair and just society. Despite advancements, women and girls continue to face challenges in accessing equal opportunities, representation in leadership roles, and equitable compensation. At Generation, we recognize that empowering women is not only a matter of justice but also a key driver of economic growth and social progress. By fostering inclusivity and advocating for gender equality, we contribute to a more equitable and sustainable future.
Currently, 18% of our workforce consists of female employees, and we are committed to increasing this percentage in the coming years. Our goal is to achieve 40% female workforce participation by 2030, ensuring greater representation of women across all levels of our organization.
SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
We understand that responsible consumption is essential for sustainable development. To this end, we have implemented various initiatives, including responsible chemical management, a zero single-use plastic policy, comprehensive health and safety programs, a dedicated leftover fabric sorting center, and a Green Procurement Policy that prioritizes vendors adhering to sustainable procurement practices. By integrating responsible consumption and production measures, we aim to drive transformative change and mitigate environmental impact.
Sustaining Livelihoods and Traditions
Many of our products are meticulously handcrafted by skilled female artisans across the country. We take pride in supporting these artisans by providing them with opportunities to showcase their craftsmanship and achieve economic independence. By empowering women in craft, we not only promote gender equality but also preserve cultural heritage and uphold sustainable production practices.
Women contribute significantly to both societal and organizational growth. We are committed to fostering an environment that values their skills, ensures fair compensation, and enables them to realize their full potential.
Rewriting the Narrative
With a digital community of over two million members, we leverage our platform to advocate for mindful fashion and sustainability. Through our outreach efforts, we aim to educate and inspire positive change, promoting the intersection of ethical fashion and social impact.
As a women's wear brand, we are deeply invested in amplifying women's voices and addressing issues affecting them. Our marketing channels serve as a platform for redefining industry narratives, initiating meaningful discussions, and challenging societal norms. By expanding opportunities for women and fostering an inclusive community, we strive to create a more equitable and sustainable future.
